ENGLISH LANGUAGE MUST BE MANDATORY ON MEXICAN UNIVERSITIES.

The world has changed a lot the past decade. The term "Globalization" is a word we use and hear every single day. Moreover, is used by everyone in the world. It is known that the english language is used in a lot of the companies in the world. Therefore, future employees of these companies must learn the language. I think that english as second language must be mandatory, and a third language must be voluntary. Students must have the basic tools during primary, and high school. By contrast, during University must be specialized on profesional themes and vocabulary. If we want to improve our Country, we must support laws that make english language mandatory for all Universities.

Well, forget about making a better Country. Let's think about ourselves. We need the tools to progress in our education and be candidates for jobs well paid. Moreover, with progress in our lives. If we are not happy with the job we are doing, then we will not be happy in our lives. We must have the proper education and preparation for the world out there, and we need the english language mandatory in all Universities.

SKIMMING

This method was hard, and difficult. Well, some articles are hard to understand and the author´s type of writing is trully the most important thing on following the idea by skimming.
I think that journal articles, or quick notes are better to understand using the "fast-reading" techniques. Long articles or stories must be harder to follow and to completely understand the meaning of the text.
I did not cheated at all. I just chose the right articles to achieve the purpose of this weeks e-tivity. The articles I chose were simple and according to my theory, the right ones to practice skimming.
I felt comfortable doing the excersise and "quick-reading" the articles. But I must say, it was hard as well. I hope I am doing a good job in this course and look forward to complete it.

SCANNING

At first, the instructions were kind of confusing on the discussion board. It is completely important that you are given the things (words) you want to look for in the scanning... if not will be completely dificult to focus your view in something if you are reading quickly the article.
Then when I focused my mind in certain percentages and questions from the instructions, I catched it perfectly. I started answering the questions and noting the percentage meanings. Now I know that I can use SCANNING when I need certain information and do not need to read an entire document. I know also, that I will not use SCANNING if I read a novel or a science fiction book, because I will not understand anything in the book. Remember to use scanning only when you need to know certain information, not when you want to get the complete idea of a novel or a book.
